For this 108 Mala I used 6mm Matte White Onyx Jade, 6mm Pyrite, Mini Brass Beads and a Pyrite as the Guru Bead. The mala has been hand knotted on an extra strong, nylon cord with one knot between each gemstone bead. It not only looks great, it also makes it easy to use it as a tool in your meditation practice.
Mala length: 36" (91,5cm). Guru Bead:1 1/8" (3cm).
White Onyx can help make its owners mind positive and purify negative energy. It can clear anxiety and sadness and help you deal with inner and outer stress. It is connected to the Crown Chakra (connection, life force, higher power).
Pyrite is a powerful protection stone and is very grounding, and it is a traditional symbol for money and good luck. Use this stone to overcome lethargy and fatigue and strengthening of the mind. Pyrite makes a wonderful energy shield and blocking out negativity, overcoming feelings of inadequacy and energizes the area where you place it. It is connected to the Sacral Chakra (sexuality, relationships, creativity) and the Solar Plexus Chakra (personal power, confidence, respect for self and others).
The Guru Bead is bead number 109 in the mala, and it signals the end of one round in your japa cycle (meditation). The Guru Bead is very important because it will hold all your prayers, and when you wear the mala you’ll have your prayers, intentions, hopes and dreams close yo your heart. It also symbolized the connection between teacher and student.
