For this long 108 Mala I use 8mm Feldspar, 8mm Rudraksha Seeds, copper spacer beads and a Jasper for the Guru Bead. The mala has been hand knotted on an extra strong, nylon cord with one knot between each gemstone bead. It not only looks great, it also makes it easy to use it as a tool in your meditation practice.
Mala length: 42" (106.5cm). Guru Bead: 1 1/8" (30mm).
Feldspar helps you in honoring yourself as a woman, honoring your sexuality and ability to create new life. Feldspar increases your self-respect, self-esteem and self-awareness. Feldspar is often associated with life’s changes and are beneficial if you have difficulty coping. It can help you see things in a more positive light. It is connected to the Solar Plexus Chakra (personal power, confidence, respect for self and others) and the Heart Chakra (love, acceptance, forgiveness).
Rudraksha are the original Vedic Beads of Power worn by the Gods. The Rudraksha seed is considered a manifestation of the cosmic force, and a source to reach the Higher Self. It also helps to open all the chakras and heal the body and the mind. The Divine qualities of the bead in mentions in ancient Hindu scriptures, it is said to bless one with peace of mind, protect against evil spirits, protect the wearer from negative energy and charging the wearers chakra field and Kundalini energy.
Jasper is a stone of gentleness, comfort, and relaxation. It is called the nurturing stone. Jasper can bring healing, peace, and ease. It is also a powerful protection stone in general and can be used in protection magic, in talismans and other places you want a strong but gentle protection. It is connected to the Root Chakra (connection to earth, survival instincts, self-preservation).
The Guru Bead is bead number 109 in the mala, and it signals the end of one round in your japa cycle (meditation). The Guru Bead is very important because it will hold all your prayers, and when you wear the mala you’ll have your prayers, intentions, hopes and dreams close yo your heart. It also symbolized the connection between teacher and student.
