For this long "showstopper" 108 Mala I used 8mm Green Agate, Grainstone and brass elephant tusk pendant. The mala has been hand-knotted on an extra strong, nylon cord with one knot between each gemstone bead. It not only looks great, it also makes it easy to use it as a tool in your meditation practice.

Agate has properties that will help you balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection, healing, and calming. It soothes and calms, healing inner anger or tension and creates a sense of security and safety. Agate is a stone of strength, it gives courage, emotional strength and self-confidence, and dispels fears. It is connected to and can remove blockage from any chakra (depending on color).
Grainstone is an assisting stone used to enhance healing properties, encourages purification, reminds us of our innocence, grounds and centers us and entices positive thoughts. It is connected to the Root Chakra (connection to earth, survival instincts, self-preservation).

The Elephant Tusk symbolizes Ganesha, an elephant that has the strength to uproot a tree, but can also pick up a needle. There is great symbolism in Ganesha's one tusk, meaning that a person is wise and beyond duality. The elephant is also a Buddhist symbol of mental strength. In many African cultures the tusk is a symbol of strength, power, longevity, stamina, mental focus, spirit, and loyalty.
